Introduction: Time Management

In my experiences, reaching an age of more responsibilities means less free time.  However, free time is immeasurably important.  Empty time blocks are healthy for our poor bloated brains, in which the brain can freely digest pressing thoughts without being fed by more stimulation.

As we get older, we get more responsibilities, and less free time to think.  This is normal and understandable; as young children, we learn so much so quickly, so our brains require more free time to process information.  When we become teenagers, we are still young, and so it's still important to have free time to think.

Ha ... Hahahaha... Funny joke, right?

But really, it's possible. When everything is flying out of control and responsibilities bombard our schedules, it's important to set aside time to think. However, that sometimes takes some work - and hard work, at that. Work at planning and executing, to be sure that everything is getting done punctually and nothing happens at the last minute (unless it's unavoidable.)

Though it seems like a daunting task, one's lifestyle can go from hectic to handled very quickly. Trust me, I know.

Being homeschooled comes with a lot of freedom and responsibility  My parents don't constantly remind me of my deadlines and hover over me to be sure I'm getting my work done, so it would be easy to push the work aside and say "I'll get to it later." Studying for tests like the SAT must be completed on my own accord, with some guidance from my parents (also, the best teachers in the world.)
To accompany my schooling, I am involved in many church activities and an acting group.  All these things put together sometimes make my life hectic, especially at times when I'm planning for a retreat, have 100 pages of reading for my next online class, and have lots of lines to learn.  On top of that, there are chores, exercise, and my own sanity that have to remain in check. (The last one is always the first to go...)

Since freshman year, my schedule-planning and time-managing methods have been exercised enough that I do feel ready to take on the daunting tasks of upperclassman-ship! Driver's license, bank account, job-hunting, SAT-taking, college-searching, and - most importantly - my schooling: they're all coming this fall, to theaters near you! all in addition to my volunteer work and hobbies.

Hopefully, my time-managing skills are ready to face the challenge. More to come as the saga commences!
